About this ebook

Remington and her warrior sisters had been around for several millennia. Their time of fighting wars and conquering kingdoms was now a distant memory. Before Queen Dante passed, she’d graced her prized warriors—the falcon, hawk, eagle, phoenix, vulture, and owl—with humanity as well as immortality.

Remi wasn’t unhappy with her life. She was just bored.

Harlin Tayler was working deep undercover, and he was thinking that hopefully, the case he was working on was about to come to an end. Sorrel was the worst sort of person, and Harlin was aiming to bring him to justice. But Sorrel wasn’t human at all. He was a powerful fae.

His case against Sorrel brought him to Remi, and from the moment they met, they both knew they were mates. Harlin also discovered that as a small child, his memory of who he really was had been erased for his own protection. Now that his memories had been restored, the cloak had been lifted, and they were all in danger. But with Remi by his side, they could face anything coming their way—he hoped….

'Remington' is Kathi S. Barton's fifth book in her "Queen's Birds of Prey" series and I have to admit, it's probably one of my favorites that she's written. If you've been following along, then you'll be excited to know that this one picks up exactly where book four, Piper, left off. If you haven't and your reading this review to see if you'd be interested, there are a few things you need to know first. Although each of these books can be read independently of one another, to get the full impact I would recommend reading them in order as each one builds on the previous story. This is Remington, the Queen's Vulture and my favorite of all the birds of prey, and Harlin's story. As much as each of the birds was loyal and loved the Queen, Remington's love went beyond that of friend and loyal subject. She loved her Queen like a daughter loves her mother. As the saying goes, her heart was as big as she was. Harlin was given a small amount of magic from Grant, Piper's mate when they were in college together and Harlin almost died. He assumed that's why he became so good at his job as an FBI agent. Of course, if you know anything about Ms. Barton's writing, then you know the chemistry is instantaneous when one of her characters finds their mate and that's what happened when Remington and Harlin meet. Truly an explosion that rocked the house and shattered windows! Naturally, there are also villains and drama that need to be dealt with along with the members of the family and catching up with any new exploits. You won't believe how this one takes and turn and what these two are ultimately blessed with. Absolutely sigh-worthy.
