About this ebook

Their lives are linked.

Mila's power has been stolen. Taken by a villain she can't escape, her secrets all revealed. Held in thrall by an enemy she hates, she is consumed by the man whose mark circles her throat. Her wrists...

Her every action subject to the whims of Captain Asher Rawlings.

Controlling, jealous and possessive, he means to keep her for his own. To claim her magic and use it to rise within the ranks of the Caledonian army with a powerful priestess chained to his side—but Mila is untrained. Her magic volatile when it should be a soothing balm.

And what is dangerous to one, is deadly to the other.

A weakness in what should be an unbreakable bond.

In a place where even the slightest vulnerability is an open invitation for disaster, their bond is a lure for powerful men to strike without mercy.

On her knees but not defeated, Mila must choose. Give in to Asher and embrace her power...

Or let them both fall...

The hate and anger spewed at the end of the first book continued for about 60% of this story. Mila and Asher butted heads for the entirety of the story. Not once was the word “love” uttered or thought by either main character. Asher wanted control of Mila while she was plotting revenge. Towards the end of this second installment of the story Mila’s perspective began to change and then the story stopped in a cliffhanger. The world this story is set in is still not clear in my mind. The author is revealing it slowly as the story unfolds. It is a dark world where conquered people are treated as less than human. Mila is surrounded by people that would hurt her just for the sake of entertainment. Yet, Asher might be the exception. The author hints that there might be more to him than he’s allowed Mila to see so far. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Frost to Dust is the continuation of the complex and volatile relationship between Elite Captain Asher Rawlings and his newly acquired priestess Mila. As the days go by in captivity, Mila sees that her chances of escaping the unbreakable bond the captain has forced upon her as being hopeless. Not only is she fighting his despicable attentions on a daily basis, she is also attracting attention from the Elite superiors who wish to use her ‘undeveloped’ power to cause further destruction. For Mila, it’s choosing between the lesser of two evils: the Elite Caledonian monsters who want to destroy the future for Mila and her kind or Captain Rawlings. Both representing two different sides of the war, they are constantly at odds with each other but when events get out of hand they are warily united. Needing to first survive the threat that wants to kill them both and then survive hate/passion they stir in one other.

There is only one word to describe the book. Powerful. I thought about this book for quite a few days after reading it. Which for me is rare. I read a book ,enjoy it and then move to the next. Not this trilogy. Well written, Lots of twists, action and intrigue. It will keep you on the seat of your pants. You will need to read the first book to get the feel of the second. Asher is still arrogant, but he is starting to get a couple of decent qualities. Mila is still in my opinion the hero of the Tritans. Even if she doesn't know it , yet. She is still struggling to figure out who/what is is to become. Unique on her capabilities. Needing to learn so much with very little time. Sasha is directed to help, but she has her own agenda. And it doesn't benefit Mila. Can't wait for the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
