I really enjoyed this book. I liked all of the characters, especially Jake and RJ. They had great chemistry. Jake did such a quick and surprising turn around after Kujo showed up on his doorstep. The action, suspense, and danger started early on in this book and continued until almost the very end. I really liked that RJ was strong, independent, straight forward, and self sufficient. I was also glad that after Jake arrived in Colorado he was able to quickly realize he had much more to offer and to live for than he thought. This was a fast paced, engaging read with an HEA, and a hint to the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Ready Copy of this book.

What a great way to kick-off this new series. Likable characters that are easy to relate to are combined with a skillfully written storyline that grabs your attention and engages your emotions. Jake and RJ were amazing characters and together I felt they were pure magic. Danger, suspense, drama, emotion, action and romance will have you feeling right on the edge and swoony. I am posting a forthright, volitional review.

The Brotherhood Protectors are opening in Colorado – a whole new group to read about! Fans of Elle James’s Brotherhood Protectors will be familiar with Hank Patterson’s protectiveness and loyalty to those he’s served with and those he hires, so his determination to bring Jake Cogburn on board after Cog loses a leg is not surprising. He sees Cog heading the new Colorado branch of the Protectors, and he sends Kujo down to see if he can drag Cog out of the bleak state of mind he’s been in since leaving the service. Of course, where the Protectors are, there are always people needing their protection, and where better to have this than on their new Colorado base. This is a great story; it’s got it all – wounded hero, strong female protagonist, increasing suspense, no obvious answers – I look forward to more of the Colorado Brotherhood Protectors! I was gifted a copy of this book, and the opinions are my own.
