We are back in Colorado with the newly formed division of the Brotherhood Protectors. A group of former military men dedicated to protect those in need. The latest addition to the group is former Army Ranger Cage Weaver. After losing his best friend, he chose to leave the military and is now given his first assignment, protecting mental health therapist Emily Strayhorn. From the moment he meets her, he’s enchanted by her beauty and her inner strength. As he protects her against a stalker who keeps on escalating the danger, these two develop feelings neither wanted or expected. Will they be able to overcome the danger and find their HEA? As we wait to find out, we get a chance of spending time not only with characters from previous stories in this series, but also with members of the original series based in Montana. Another entertaining story by this author. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the third installment to this spin-off series of the Brotherhood Protectors Colorado. While it is a part of a series, and the prior two couples are mentioned throughout the story, you really don't have to read them to understand and enjoy this one. I would highly recommend it though as they are great stories themselves. This book is written in a dual POV format. That really helps me to connect to the characters and understand their actions and conversations so much better that way. I could have almost cried within just the first few pages. This author does a fantastic job of making me a part of the story. My emotions were all over the roller coaster ride of this story. The plot flowed beautifully and the suspense was almost to the point that I wanted to read the back to see who the stalker was (but I refrained!) Cole is a new hire with the Brotherhood. He meets Emily at the lodge the day before his start date. Emily has just gotten a scare. After working with veterans at the local VA hospital, she discovers a rose in her locked car! When she gets ready to head to the ranch that her friend (RJ) and Gunny (RJ's dad) owns she received a message from the person who left the rose. Poor Emily she is now skittish and her friends tell her that Cole will be her bodyguard and will lead the investigation as to who it is. The events that the stalker puts Emily through would have put me away (yep, I think I also need Cole!!!) This is a slightly spicy read. I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18. If you love a wonderfully written suspenseful romance featuring a retired Army Ranger (and really who wouldn't?!?!?!?!), then I would highly recommend this book and author. You won't regret it.

Cage Weaver, a retired Army Ranger, was recently hired to work the Colorado Branch of The Brotherhood Protectors. He’s just arrived to Colorado in time to complete the Pike Peak’s Marathon—one he and his best friend and former Army buddy vowed to complete together. Only his “brother” didn’t make it home. Cage runs the marathon, but when he reaches the peak he can’t quite let his brother go. He returns to base to begin his job. HIs first assignment...protecting Emily from a stalker. Emily Strayhorn, a certified psychologist, works at the VA with service men and women who suffer with PTSD and sexual assault while enlisted. Emily grew up on the ranch with RJ, Gunny, and Jojo as her “family” after her parents were killed. Emily recently moved into town, closer to the VA and her job. But now, she’s receiving “gifts” from a stalker. Emily is forced back to the safety of the ranch and assigned a bodyguard—Cage. This is the third novel in the Brotherhood Protectors Colorado series. It also marks the grand opening of The Brotherhood Protectors in Colorado. It was nice to have appearances of some of the previous Brotherhood Protectors at the grand opening. If insta-love, romantic suspense is what you’re looking for, this is a series/novel for you. I truly didn’t know who the stalker was until the last chapter! The ending was creepy, but Elle James does give you a HEA. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
