I Recommend This Book Yes Review Last updated on 28 Mar 2017 This is such a fantastic premise - and very fitting for today's world. I do appreciate that Scott didn't take it someplace too dangerous. Instead there is a bit of a misunderstanding about who exactly Alex has been emailing, with the expected hard feelings, but Joe is a good man and things quickly turn around. None of these people are perfect and both Alex & Joe have their hesitations for putting themselves out there. While their face-to-face introduction leaves A LOT to be desired, there are all of those emails that built a good foundation for their friendship. They just have to believe in themselves and each other ... but of course trusting is never easy. Twist is full of humor, heart and heat. It's fun to be with these two as they move from a virtual friendship to a real one, with lots of sparks and playfulness along the way. While they let life get in the way and freak them out for a bit, eventually they figure things out - and it fits them so well :) (This is the first of Scott's books that I've read but it definitely can stand alone. She does such a great job of keeping you in the know wither everything relevant that you can easily jump right in.) *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

**Advanced copy provided by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review** Ever since I found the Stage Dive books by Kylie Scott, I have been sucked into the worlds she creates for us. I enjoyed the first book in the Dive Bar series and I was anxiously awaiting the second one and Twist definitely did not disappoint. All Joe Collins was trying to do was help his brother Eric by setting up a dating profile for him. When Eric lost interest, as Eric tends to do, Joe was going to log on to the account and shut it down, simple as that. But when things seem to be simple they never are. Joe discovered the profile of a woman who definitely caught his attention; one that he wanted to get to know and so he began corresponding with her using his brother's account. Alex Parks has always been a bit socially awkward and for that reason she keeps her number of friends small, one, her bestie Val, and she works from home as a graphic designer. While she isn't really into relationships, she's totally down with becoming email buddies with "Eric" and enjoys the fun, flirty, messages that pass between them. Could this be more for her than just email correspondence? Remember when I said things are never simple? Alex finally gets the nerve up to meet the man she's been talking with for so long. When she finally arrives, she's in for the surprise of her life when she meets everyone at the Dive Bar. Will the piece of information that Joe omitted be the end of any relationship before it can even begin? Or will Alex see that maybe what she thought she wanted wasn't what she wanted at all? I loved the vibe between Joe and Alex. Alex is snarky and funny and Joe is sweet and sexy. Not to mention we get all of our other friends who made appearances in the first book of the series. They are such a fun group, you just want to go and hang out with them! Kudos to Kylie Scott for another fantastic offering in this series. I can't wait to see what she brings us next!

Kylie Scott, where have you been all my life? Going out of her comfort zone and visiting her online-crush on his birthday wasn't probably a smart move but Eric hasn't responded to any of Alex' mails in a week. Turns out, the guy Alex thought she had been talking to for half a year doesn't know her. It was his brother, the ruggedly handsome, bearded, long-haired and so-not-her-type Joe. She is furious and determined to fly back home on the next day. A vicious case of the flu, however, thwarts her plans. And that liar Joe? He is annoyingly tenacious and wants to take care of her. Joe is a sweetheart from bottom to top. He is hard working, serious, reliable and the rock everyone leans on when things go downhill. He takes care of people, is a gentleman, despite his rugged looks, and feels deeply. Joe's quiet demeanor is in contrast to Alex' quirkiness, yet he has that sense of humor that blindsides you. He is the whole package and I adored him from the start. Alex is one of those heroines I always admire because I want to be like them. She knows her flaws and is totally unapologetic about them. She is a commitment-phobe, she has never been in a serious relationship. She'd rather have hook-ups, intimacy scares the living daylights out of her. But, Alex is also smart, loyal and has a no-nonsense attitude. Her snarky comebacks were the highlight of this story. I absolutely LOVED their friendship. They have each other's back, stand up for one another and have this easygoing connection that doesn't need words to fill the silence. They enable each other to be who they really are without feeling bad about it. Their banter is so funny and I love that Joe calls Alex Little Miss Effing Sunshine but when he is with his parents all of a sudden she is Little Miss Sunshine. When they start being sexually attracted to each other it's the logical consequence of their friendship. They are a combustible mixture and once they give in they will leave you short of breath. The part I adored most about this book was that both main characters looked past each other's looks and actually fell for the person behind them. It felt natural when they transitioned from friends to lovers because their personalities were like lock and key. The secondary cast was also a highlight - they made me curious about their stories and I'm lusting for their books. Eric is next and I am so curious how this author will turn this a little bit shallow, self-absorbed man-ho into someone I can love. I am new to this author's writing but I think the first page already made her an auto-buy. Her snarky and hilarious writing style put a perma-grin on my face. I am already addicted and want MORE! If you love a humorous story with depth go get this book. I hope you'll love it as much as I did.
