Yves Patrick Beaulieu is a French Canadian who lives in the northeastern Quebec region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, which is located in the heart of the Boreal Canadian forest. In 1991, he finished his first novel, With the Passage of the Ninth Moon, which garnered him regional renown. Ten years later, the author finished his second novel, The Hermitage, which was likewise well-received in his adoptive region. This was followed by six short stories.
