About the author

Born in 5th December 1971 in West Bengal, India, Sriparna Bandyopadhyay had a good academic record with artistic and creative inclination from her very childhood. Being an MBA preceded by BSc and BEd her career could have been otherwise. However, her present full-time occupation is Writing – both Creative and Factual, which include contribution of poems, fictions, juvenile literatures, book reviews, essays, features, travelogues etc. to various little as well as leading Bengali magazines and dailies. She has written a lot of English Contents as a professional Content Writer. Sriparna has already 20 books of poetry, fictions and essays in her credit and some more are in the queue. She often designs the covers of her own books.

Although her literary journey started with poetry, Sriparna is highly acknowledged for her crisp and analytical proses. She has been awarded many a times for her fictions, essays and translation works. She is specially committed to yield research based articles and dissertations on scientific, historical and socio-political issues with special emphasis on Gender Equality, Environmental concern and National Interest. That is the reason she has burnt-out long 15-16 years of her life in self-motivated research works on Gender Science as well as in excavating true History and throwing light on the untold reality of past and present. The similar concern is reflected in her creative pieces i.e. fictions and poems.

She doesn’t hesitate to address controversial topics like Gender Violence, Uniform Civil Code in the context of Triple Talaq, Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 and numerous historical and sociopolitical issues for the sake of humanity and nation. She has also translated some works of Sitaram Goel adding her notes/reviews in the respective prefaces. On the other hand Music and travelling is her all-time favorites and she is very much fond of writing travelogues.

The full-time writer often engages herself in Philanthropic and Social works at her personal capacity without caring for publicity and without seeking and monetary assistance from any government or non-government body. Adhering to the age old proverb, “charity begins at home”, the primary beneficiaries are her domestic helps, community service providers and her neighbors. She has forced the builder to fulfill some of his promises from where he deviated largely in her residential complex for the benefit of all the residents. She tries to help widows and housewives who are victims of domestic violence. Also the writer is active since 2019 for improving public transport in her locality mobilizing a mass petition.

The dynamic character, therefore, doesn't limit her creativity within what market demands but plunges deeply into various critical issues which is reflected in her published works. The given list of her books is likely to implicate the versatility as well as socio-humanitarian commitment of the Author.
