Do Over by Serena Bell, book one in her Under One Roof series, is a wonderful, heartwarming romance about a two friends who became lovers with a consequence but broke up thinking they were doing a favor to the other and now have a second chance. A lot of tropes are covered in this amazing romance book; friends-to-lovers, second chance, forced proximity. When Maddie shows up at Jack's doorstep crying over her latest broken relationship, Jack can't help but let her back into his life and into his home while she finds a place to live. The last time Jack consoled Maddie like this, it led to the conception of their son, Gabe, but Jack would love to have them back in his life permanently if he only was deserving of them. The chemistry sizzles between Jack and Maddie and a magnetic attraction keeps drawing them together. The contributions by Gabe, their son, added another dimension to their relationship, connections, as well as strengthening each of them as a parent. It is apparent through their interactions that neither Maddie nor Jack ever got over the other. Having their lives were forever linked because of their son should have allowed them to share their feelings, but both of them have some major trust and communications issues they need to overcome. Ms. Bell wrote a wonderful, emotional, and heartwarming story that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, strong magnetism, humor, family dynamics, clever banter, the magic of love, and endearing characters giving Jack and Maddie a second chance at love, happiness, and along with Gabe, a family. I highly recommend Do Over to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series

Do Over by Serena Bell is one beautifully poignant, hot, and wonderful second-chance story. It’s part of her Under-One-Roof romance series, and all stand alone. Jack Parker and Maddie Adams were childhood neighbors and friends. They’ve had off-the-charts chemistry forever but Jack’s history has not left him in a good place to commit to a relationship. Serena Bell’s characters are so well written and it is both completely heartening and wrenching at times to see them be honest and vulnerable and true to themselves and each other. Maddie and Jack’s path is not exactly straight but it is an incredible journey and one that ultimately leaves me joyfully all smiles.

This was a fun and heartfelt second chance romance. Jack and Maddie have been friends since they were young kids. Something happens in their teens and suddenly they are no longer friends. An unexpected hook up when they when she was in her early twenties is wild and crazy. But then she becomes pregnant. Jack breaks her heart and she moves on. What I found most interesting about this story is Jack has a lot of growing up to do and until he does he will never be the father he needs to be. His past haunts him. Maddie just doesn't think she could ever trust him again. It took awhile but we do get a HEA in the end
