Friends to lovers. Agatha is resigned to being a spinster until an old friend comes back into her life. Elias is looking for a wife now that be is a baron. Seeing his childhood friend gives him hope that his marriage could be more than a marriage of convenience. This is a sweet shifter romance. Agatha and Elias are perfect for each other. Childhood friends, a marriage of convenience, and proof that friendship is the most incredible foundation for love. I adored Agnes and Elias together, particularly the ways they supported one another; her with his business and him with her family. However, this can’t be the end of the series! In fact, I think I will start with the denial stage and just never progress from there. Then, in my mind the series never ended, and I can continue to believe in my deluded bliss that it's not over.

Thirty-three-year-old Agatha Spineforth is seen as a disappointment by her mother because she hasn't found a husband in the past seven years.
