About the author

In the early 1980s, KATHY SNOWBALL left a career in merchant banking to study at Leith's School of Food and Wine in London. After six years of catering and teaching, she returned to Australia and joined the Australian Women's Weekly as assistant food editor responsible for the Home Library series of cookbooks. In 1993 she moved to Australian Gourmet Traveller, was appointed food editor in 1996 and became food director of this and three other magazines in 2000. She also compiled and edited two cookbooks for Gourmet Traveller. Kathy is now a freelance food writer, working for Gourmet, Gourmet Wine, House and Garden and Cuisine magazine in New Zealand, and she teaches at her newly established cooking school, Snowball and Pemberton's Food Workshop.
