We first discuss what is mental health, which is the absence of mental disorders. Then we discuss a few different types of mental disorders such as schizophrenia and depression, showing the biological, social and psychological factors behind each of the disorders. Then we discuss in detail stress, which is a common mental disorder that affects our well-being. We discuss theories of stress and how to combat stress using techniques such as logotherapy, CBT and positive psychology. We also discuss how our diet and physical activity affects our mental health.
It is hoped that reading these factors and techniques will enable the reader of how psychology can be applied to enhance one’s mental health in daily life.
