HE'S A BLACK OPS HERO. SHE'S A RISK-TAKING PHOTOGRAPHER HURTLING INTO DANGER. WILL A CUNNING TERRORIST COST THEM TRUE LOVE?

Black ops soldier Chase Mackenzie’s goal is singular. On the hunt to capture a terrorist, he needs to remain laser-focused. But when the man he’s after endangers the life of a sassy risk-taking photographer, he discovers an unexpected link to his target. Grace is a distraction he can’t afford, but with every second bringing them closer to danger, he finds himself fighting for more than her survival.

Risk-taker may be freelance photographer Grace Emerson’s middle name, but she’s spent a lifetime dodging romantic entanglements—until she comes face to face with the kind of man she loves to hate. When a hotter than sin commando rescues her from a near-death miss, she’s surprised by her attraction to Chase…and her willingness to explore more.

With more than his mission on the line, Chase has a new goal: capture Grace’s heart. All he has to do is convince her he’s worth taking a chance on while keeping her safe, catching the bad guy, and saving the day. Not a problem for someone used to flirting with danger, right?

Packed with action and sizzling with combustible chemistry and thrilling suspense, CHASING GRACE is a fast-paced, full-length standalone novel with a guaranteed happily ever after.

"Chasing Grace" is a thrilling romantic suspense novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The pacing of the novel is fast and relentless, with plenty of action, suspense, and times when you need a tissue or more close by. The characters are well-developed, with complex motivations and backstories that add depth and complexity to the plot. One of the strengths of "Chasing Grace" is the chemistry between Grace and Chase. Their relationship is both intense and believable, and Edith Lalonde does a great job of building the sexual tension between them without detracting from the overall plot. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fast-paced action, suspenseful romance, and a strong and powerful female and a supportive, and strong, cast of men. I was blown away by this book! I rarely try new authors, but I'm so glad I took a chance on this one. The story is fast-paced with more than a few jaw-dropping shocking twists, and the writing style is snarky, inventive, and filled with wordplay that beautifully and succinctly gets the point across every time, with a brilliant use of humor more often than not. Chase is on assignment for his special ops team when he happens to cross paths with Grace, who has been sent there as a photo-journalist. When everything blows up, he's the only one who can save her life, which necessitates taking her back to his team's HQ. Nothing is as it seems, except for who Grace and Chase are, and I was stunned speechless a few times by the twisty secrets that were exposed along the way. These two have chemistry for days, but she's sworn off military men - and for very good reasons. Chase has his work cut out for him, not just in keeping her safe but also in convincing her that their love story is inevitable. Their HEA is perfect, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. If you love romances where sassy heroines are paired up with Men Who Get Things Done, then this book was written for you. I couldn't have loved it more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Honestly, I'd give this book more stars than five stars if I could. It has everything I love about a military suspense book. Tons of action, plenty of romance, and not the hearts in your eyes hallmark movie love, comradery and brotherhood between the team, and a fast-paced story that keeps you turning the pages in the late night. Heads up for those with possible triggers, there is cussing, violence, attempted rape. The cussing is no biggie for me. I'm a vet myself and I can tell you it does add a layer of realism to the book, we can be rather creatively vocal in that department. I started reading after dinner and didn't put the book down till 3am. If you don't have a problem with a foul mouthed, extremely independent, beautifully broken leading woman and a dominate alpha military man who refuses to give up, grab this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
