About the author

Cass Ingram is a nutritional physician who received a B.S. in biology and chemistry from University of Northern Iowa (1979) and a D.O. from Des Moines Osteopathic College (1984). In the 1980's he started the Arlington Preventive Medical Center in Arlington Heights Illinois, which later became the American Center for Curative Medicine.

Ingram was a pioneer in the holistic and preventive medical field. He has written over 30 books on natural healing and has given answers and hope to millions of people on thousands of radio and TV shows and on his podcast, “The Wilderness Doc”.

His research and writing have led to countless nature based cures and discoveries. His most famous being oregano oil, which he discovered in the early 1990's on a trip to Lebanon. He later tested it and found scientific evidence for its healing properties. His promotion of oregano oil earned him the title of “Dr. Oregano”.

Later he discovered, tested, formulated and promoted more healing plants found in forests, mountains, seas and other natural environments. Cass Ingram presents hundreds of health tips and insights in his many books on health, nutrition, and disease prevention. He is one of North America's leading pioneers in the field of preventive medicine, with his most famous books - The Cure is in the Cupboard, The Cure is in the Forest, and Foods that Cure. He spent his entire life advocating the health benefits and disease fighting properties of wild medicinal foods and spice extracts.
