The integration of technology into Islamic finance is a topic of growing interest, with a focus on promoting inclusive and progressive financial systems. The use of technology, such as blockchain, is being considered to enhance the inclusivity and progressiveness of Islamic finance. However, the transition from conventional to Islamic banking systems presents operational challenges, and the industry is still working on standardizing Islamic financial instruments. Despite the rapid expansion of Islamic finance, there are ongoing debates about its efficiency and the need for further progress in all areas of Islamic finance.

Digitalization of Islamic Finance provides theoretical frameworks and the latest empirical research findings in the area of Islamic finance to promote inclusive and sustainable financial systems aligned with Islamic principles and to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This involves enhancing the efficiency, accessibility, and impact of Islamic finance through the integration of technology, standardizing Islamic financial instruments, and increasing awareness among various stakeholders. Covering topics such as blockchain technology, financial technologies (FinTech), and public perceptions, this book is an excellent resource for professionals, researchers, practitioners, academicians, businessmen, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and graduate and postgraduate students.

Sobre l'autor

Fuadah Johari is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). In 2011, she obtained her PhD from the University of Malaya, a Master of Shariah (Hons) in Shariah and Economics in 2004 and a Bachelor of Shariah (Hons) in Shariah and Economics in 1999 from the same university. She is a Fellow Researcher at the Islamic Finance and Wealth Management Institute (IFWMI), and obtained certified Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) by the Islamic Banking and Financial Institutes of Malaysia (IBFIM). She is also a Editorial Board of the Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Research (JMIFR), and several editorial journals at national and international levels. Her academic interests include Islamic Social Finance, focusing on Ijtima'i Economics (Zakat, Wakaf, and Baitulmal), Poverty Alleviation, and Islamic Business.

Ahmad Rafiki is an Assistant Professor and as the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Medan Area (UMA). He was with University College of Bahrain in the Department of Business Administration as Assistant Professor and as Research Associate in the Mizan Research Centre, Faculty of Leadership and Management, Universiti Sains lslam Malaysia (USIM). He obtained his BBA degree with a major of Marketing from MARA University of Technology and Masters in Management from International Islamic University of Malaysia. In March 2014, he awarded Doctor of Philosophy from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). He is holding Certified Islamic Marketing Associate (CIMA) from the International Islamic Marketing Association (IIMA). He has published many chapters of books/authored books and articles related to Islamic management, entrepreneurship, SMEs, leadership and halal industry by International publishers such as IBA-MacMillan, IGI Global, Emerald Publishing (Journal of Islamic Marketing, Asian Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Investment Compliance, PSU Research Review, RAUSP Management Journal, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, Journal of Advance in Management Research, Enterprising Communities: People and Places in the Global Economy), Springer, Routledge etc. He also became the editorial advisory board and reviewer in reputable publishers of Emerald (Journal of Islamic Marketing, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management) and Elsevier. He has presented academic papers in various international seminars/conferences such as in Indonesia, Malaysia, United Kingdom and Turkey. He won as the Outstanding Reviewer of Literati Awards 2020 by Emerald Publishing. [Editor]
