Sambit Bakshi is presently with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, India. He is also a research scholar in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He has completed his BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2009. Subsequently, he has completed MTech in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India in 2011. His research interests include biometric systems, cognitive signal acquisition and analysis, and visual surveillance. He has worked with different traits of biometric, viz. periocular region, iris, face, lip, fingerprint, and gait. He is a member of Technical Committee on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (PAMI), IEEE (2013 - ). He has chaired and served as programme committee member of many international conferences.
