About the author

Dr. Alfred Boediman is an experienced senior executive who has implemented changes to answer business and technology needs across some areas in the technology, finance, and sustainability sectors. Alfred is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business-Asia Campus; he holds degrees from the Universitas Indonesia, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Chicago. His postdoctoral research examines the neuro-statistical approach in derivatives financial exchange combined with multi-layered market sentiment.

Alfred’s interest and training in technology research for cognitive socio-behavior and machine learning area. He is also an angel investor for several tech startups and advisor for the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago (Asia chapter); while enjoying organizational activities like Vespa riding, biking, archery and cooking in his free time.

Some of his published works are Fisika Mekanika (2022), Jendela Mata Hati (2021), Idiot Engineering (2020), Tangga Patah Hati (2020), Inno-Fiction (2017), Beyond Me: Unleashing Technopreneurship Potential (2016), Competition without Fungibility: Evidence from Alternative Market Structures for Derivatives (2007), Risk Management Effects of Multifactoriality on Technology Business in Southeast Asia (2005), among other financial mathematics, physics and engineering journals

Dr. Subiakto Soekarno is a faculty member at the ITB School of Business and Management. He earned an undergraduate degree (majoring in Mechanical Engineering) from Bandung Institute Technology (ITB) in 1983. Funded by General Electric Scholarship, he continued his study at Oklahoma State university – USA in 1992, where he earned an MBA Degree. During his study at Oklahoma State University, he received a Beta Gamma Sigma honor/membership due to high scholastic achievement. He has over 25 years of professional experience in various companies especially in strategic industries/state owned and multinational company. During his professional career, he has been experienced various management positions such as program manager, division general manager, finance director, president commissioner and chairman of audit committee. In 1998 he received a national level award “Satya Lencana Karya Pembangunan” from the President of the Republic of Indonesia due to his contribution in turbine overhaul technology transfer to the country.

He has been participating as real investor in Bursa Efek Indonesia (stocks, bonds, mutual funds), Bursa Berjangka Jakarta (forex, index), New York Stock Exchange /NASDAQ/ CBOE (stocks, exchange traded fund, option). He has passed Chartered Financial Analyst level I examination conducted by AIMR (Association for Investment Management and Research USA), in the past, he earned an RFA (Registered Financial Associates), a professional title in Personal Financial Planning from IARFC-USA, Qualified Wealth Planner (QWP), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from Financial Planning Standard Board Indonesia and an Certified Wealth Management from CMW Association. He has passed also the WPPE (Wakil Perantara Pedagang Efek) dan WMI (Wakil Manager Investasi) Certification from Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Dr. Raden Aswin Rahadi is a Real Estate and Property veteran. He was previously appointed as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Maritime Business & Management, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia; former Managing Partner at RA+ Consulting and Senior Associate at Northstar Pacific & Partners. He holds a Doctorate in Science Management from the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, and holds numerous award locally and internationally. As an Assistant Professor in ITB, he also supported various entrepreneurship.

Kurnia Fajar Afgani is the full-time lecturer in Business Risk and Finance group. His research interests are Islamic Finance and Business Economics. His teaching interest includes Business Economics, Financial Management, and Islamic Finance. He graduated with Master of Business Administration from the School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB and has also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar). He worked for the Bank bjb Syariah Company for around 10 years prior to taking this position as a faculty member of the SBM ITB until present.
