I loved The Devotion of Suspect X. However, this one isn't thrilling because it's basically laid out for you. Too linear of a story line. Perhaps it's due to the translation.

Inconsequential, rambling on and on about the same thing. Characters are flat and there is no plot.

Keigo Higashino was born in Osaka. He started writing novels while still working as an engineer at Nippon Denso Co. He won the Edogawa Rampo Prize for writing at age 27, and subsequently quit his job to start a career as a writer in Tokyo.
