It feels like the political intrigues are swirling faster and deeper around Ani than ever before. While all that’s going on around her, it’s not changing the sweet, loyal person she is in her heart. The steadfast dedication of Nik and Matia to her are proof of that. But, will the princess’s favor help or hinder Ani’s work? I’m so in love with this series and I already can’t wait to see what will happen next. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.

I loved reading this story. Ani and Nik are so cute together. It’s fun seeing how they take on new challenges and navigate the obstacles before them. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but Ramesses does show up again in this book and based on certain events, I’m guessing he’ll play a bigger role in the next one. I’m eager to see what will come next!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Intrigue in the mortuary. Ani and Nik are two of my favorite characters in this series. She is unassuming and genuine and Nik is supportive and loving. I never thought of a jackal in any way except a wild animal but clearly, Matia is more. This is an enjoyable story with temple politics, intrigue, and humor. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
