First book starts out slow. It's all about fleshing the characters. But, keep reading this book took me 2 weeks to read. I read the next two in 3 days! Could not put them down. Best sci-fi/fantasy out there. You will not be disappointed! Also, series is complete. No waiting a whole year for the last book like I did.

I have bought this series over and over just to read it and immerse myself in an original fantastical setting filled with danger, magic, politics, war, family, love. This book has the makings of becoming a Hollywood hit. Great story... RIP Sara Douglass

One of the greatest books I ever read. Her storytelling paints pictures and I forget I'm reading a book and not watching a movie because she really captures the imagination... Definitely worth the read...
About the author
Sara Douglass (1957-2011) was Australia’s leading fantasy author and one of its top novelists, earning two Aurealis Awards. Her beloved series include Wayfarer Redemption (including the award winning Enchanter and Starman), The Troy Game (beginning with Hades’ Daughter) and Crucible (with award winner The Wounded Hawk). Her standalone novels include Beyond the Hanging Wall and Threshold.
