A fast moving story involving few main characters, the way I like it. The writing transports the reader first to the Jerusalem of the early 1900's and later to the glorious years of artful Paris. Expect a lot of sadness, and yet an elated read.

It took me awhile to get used to her writing style. And there were many scenes that I found to be almost unbelievable , but I felt that I knew this person - thought I knew everything about her and would know her if I passed her on the street. I learned so much about a belief system that I only knew by name. So, yes in all honesty I recommend this book

Excellent fiction. It took me into a time I can only imagine and introduced me to characters I will remember. Although somewhat dark, the human will to be creative in all circumstances is told here with inspiring personalities.
