About this ebook

This volume collects new, previously unpublished articles on the philosopher David Kaplan. Kaplan's intellectual influence on 20th century analytic philosophy has been substantial. Beyond his highly influential work in the philosophy of language and philosophical logic, Kaplan is just as important in his way of doing philosophy: generous, witty, incisive, and interactive.

a last gasp of an old guard, now outed as such, paying homage to someone whose one good article was ripped off in toto from 'on referring' by strawson along with various and sundry papers by a.j. ayer. we are treated to the philosophical equivalents of tom arnold and charro. what is somewhat amusing is seeing joseph almog, now in his 70s, still licking the blacking off the boss's boots. trouble is, the entertainment isn't quite worth the cost, especially the time-cost involved in rummaging through this monty python final dinner party scene of a book. grim.
