About this ebook

Some scars run deeper than skin.

In the storm-ravaged coastal settlement of Ebonpeak, lightning scars the land and raiders rule the seas. Six years after Desolation Day stole everything she loved, Samara has forged herself into a weapon—scarred, unbreakable, and consumed by the need for vengeance.

When enemy ships breach their shores, Samara discovers that her greatest threats don’t come from the churning seas. Rafael, the enigmatic raider, weaves lies as skillfully as he wields a blade. And Erik has been her tormentor for years, but his hatred may not be what it seems.

As buried secrets surface and loyalties shift, Samara must choose between the revenge that’s sustained her and a terrifying future tied too closely to her past. But in a world where trust is deadly and love is a luxury few survive, some scars run too deep to heal, and to Samara’s surprise, some enemies are worth saving.

This gripping tale of survival, redemption, and fierce love continues the soul-stirring Forgotten Lands series, where hope blooms in the harshest storms.

More than a love story. It is about survival and the overwhelming feelings that beset us all in troubled times. Ending with hope for a better future. Thank you, I enjoyed this book.

What. A. Ride! If you like twists and turns this is the book for you! Although this book forms part of a series, it can likely be read separately from the other books, as it does not refer strongly to the other stories in this world. But oh what a world it is! We meet Samara in a small fishing village, and not only do those that live in this wet and dreary place have to deal with electrical storms zapping people off the face of the earth, but pirates and raiders lurk everywhere. This book was rife with twists and turns and I was left with my jaw dropped open in a few occasions, second guessing all my theories about where the characters or the story was leading - just the way I like it! Samara will imprint on your mind and you won't ever forget her!

About the author

Lindsey Pogue is a genre-bending fiction author, best known for her soul-stirring survival adventures and timeless love stories. As an avid romance reader with a master’s in history and culture, Lindsey’s series cross genres and push boundaries, weaving together facts, fantasy, and romance set in rich, sweeping landscapes of epic proportions.

She’s a dyslexic, taco-loving nature girl who enjoys sunsets, bonfires, and a nice cold gin lemonade on a warm summer night. When she’s not plotting her next storyline, or dreaming up new, brooding characters, Lindsey is wrapped in blankets watching monster flicks with her own leading man. She and her husband live in Northern California with their rescue cats, Beast and Blue.

“[Lindsey] mastered what it is to be human, and the connections we build with one another.” - Amazon (Author Unpublished)
