About this ebook

Do you believe Will took his own life?

The question echoed through the sterile morgue, bouncing off cold white tiles. Maggie leaned down, resting her forehead against her husband’s. His skin was cold. Her tears burned hot. It had been five days since Will’s death—and the weight of grief was unbearable.

Maggie believed her husband was the victim of a violent burglary. Until the police revealed something shocking: Will died by suicide.

But that can’t be true. Will wasn’t depressed. He had plans, dreams—reasons to live.

In search of solace and answers, Maggie retreats to their quiet holiday home on a remote Croatian island. There, she discovers a hidden letter in Will’s handwriting—one that hints at a long-buried secret and a past he never spoke about.

As Maggie digs deeper, she realises Will's death wasn't what it seemed. Someone from his past is watching her. Someone who will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

Because three can keep a secret… if two of them are dead.

From the international bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice comes a pulse-pounding stand-alone psychological thriller filled with jaw-dropping twists, dark secrets, and deadly consequences.

Perfect for fans of Gillian FlynnRuth Ware, and B.A. Paris, this gripping page-turner will keep you reading long into the night—and questioning everything until the final shocking twist.

A good mystery with a likable lead character. I liked Maggie immediately. The author painted a very descriptive setting and every time I picked up the book, I totally forgot it was summer in real life and instantly felt I was there. The story built up the anticipation slowly at first and picked up speed as it went. The book had a satisfying ending that wrapped up the mystery well. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed the read..fast paced and exciting..but a bit ridiculous!..still withall it took talent to write such an over the top storyline and keep the reader engaged with the characters (i would have left out the visit from her mum or made it a dream..it almost stopped the tension for me as it was a step too far)..I will try more from this author.

Robert was born in Lowestoft, on the east coast of England. He studied at Aberystwyth University, and the Guildford School of Acting, and was an actor for several years, but didn’t find success until he took a play he’d written to the Edinburgh Festival. This led to the decision to change career and start writing. He self-published a bestselling series of romantic comedy novels, before switching to writing crime. Robert lives with his husband in Slovakia, and is lucky enough to write full-time.
