The plot is very thin and obvious most of the time. It provides a good insight into the procedural aspects of the American justice system. Some times it got boring and repeated already presented ideas, just as if you had dropped off the book for some months and where in need of a refresh. Even though it did not thrilled me, I have to say that it is well written.

Once more we meet the characters of Jake Brigance, Lucien, Judge Atlee and Harry Rex and come to understand their characters a little more in this legal battle with twists and turns to keep the reader engrossed. John Grisham has an excellent way of sharing an understanding of the legal process through clever story-telling that holds the reader by keeping them curious. This would make an excellent follow-on film for the characters involved. Another brilliant read! Thank you - love your work.

I have read all of Grishams books some over the last few years I have not enjoyed however this is brilliant, clever with realistic characters and a challenging plot. The court room genre can be dry this kept me reading late into the night and regretting the novels end.
