'Exactly what you love in a fantasy' ROBIN HOBB
'A fire-new take on dragons' SAMANTHA SHANNON
'Brilliant' HANNAH KANER

The first in an epic fantasy series, with a smouldering forbidden romance, a dangerous heist, a world full of magic, and DRAGONS.

The last male dragon. A desperate thief. A bond that will save the world . . . or shatter it.

Long ago, humans betrayed dragons, stealing their magic and banishing them to a dying world. Now their descendants worship dragons as gods. But the 'gods' remember, and they do not forgive.

So when thief Arcady casts a spell to steal a powerful artefact and accidentally traps Everen - the last male dragon - in the human world, the consequences are deadly.

Everen soon realises the key to his destiny, and to regaining his true power, lies in Arcady. All he needs to do is convince them to bond with him completely - and then kill them . . .

“For if there was one thing I’d learned in my life, it was that knowledge was power. Knowledge was escape. Books were thresholds, and you could cross them and leave yourself behind, or use what you found inside to transform into someone else.” Dragonfall was the dragon book I didn’t know I needed. This was so different to anything else I’ve read! Prophecies, magic, reluctant romance, wonderful world building and an ending I genuinely didn’t see coming and I’m still reeling from!

Loved this epic fantasy told in dual PoV - a nonbinary thief and a dragon in (mostly) human form. Dragons have long since been banished to another realm, but magic goes awry and human Arkady is magically bonded to dragon Everar, with a spell that causes them pain when they touch. It's a slow burn romance threaded through adventure set in a world of myth where dragons are revered as gods, but human magic was stolen from the dragons, and dragon artefacts are sought-after prizes.

I loved this - the world building, the characters and their distinctive voices, the tension between love and loyalty. And the dragons of course! Looking forward to the sequel
