About the author

베아트릭스 포터(Beatrix Potter, 1866년 7월 28일~1943년 12월 22일)는 영국의 아동문학 작가이자 일러스트 작가다. 또 평생 환경 보호에 헌신한 환경 운동가이기도 하다.

그의 대표작인 동화 《피터 래빗》은 지난 100년 동안 전 세계 1억 5천만부 이상 판매되며, 30개 언어로 번역됐다. 피터 래빗의 캐릭터는 20세기는 물론 21세기에도 어른과 아이들의 사랑을 받고 있다.
