Im Leben ist eine Erzählung von Rainer Maria Rilke. Auszug: Der Herr Revisor ist über den Schreibtisch gebogen wie ein Gasarm mit einer matten Glaskugel am Ende. Er ist fleißig, und es ist keine Kleinigkeit, fleißig sein, wenn man so ein Gegenüber hat. Die Schreibtische haben Aufsätze zum Glück, und man kann dahinter untertauchen wie hinter einer Brustwehr. Der Revisor hat seinen kahlen Kugelkopf ganz tief über seine Zahlen geschraubt, so daß die Worte des Offizials darüberhin in die königlich-ärarische Wandkarte »Das Eisenbahnnetz von Europa« einschlagen.
About the author
Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926) war ein österreichischer Autor. Neben seinen Erzählungen schrieb er auch viele Gedichte. Im Alter von nur 51 starb er an Leukämie.
