While there was little romance until the end, this was still a good story. The mystery of Hugh's lack of affection for his daughter was too easy to solve, but the love shown throughout for God by Mary & family, as well as shown by Kezzie & Margo for each other, made it a great book to read. A lot of words were used, for which I found no meaning. My only other concern was the descriptions the author sometimes gave for clothing & stationery. I feel that she went into too much detail with those. Great otherw

I was a heart warming story of olden times and what they went through. but. It is slow reading but you also must finish to know what really happened.

The ending caught me off guard with a bitter sweet ahh! It's nice to see someone who is so hungry for the word and accepting.
