A well-written and gentle romance, this story touched my heart as I could identify with Zara and her need for roots. Returning to Bridgewater to defend his friend in a court case, Cole discovers more than reuniting with family and old friends when he comes across the beautiful coffee shop patron who unexpectedly would rather have nothing to do with him. Unused to being spurned, Cole sets out to win Zara over, but when his overtures are rejected, he calls it a day. Seeing Cole with his family makes Zara rethink her opinion about him, but Cole doesn't make it easy for her. Despite the rocky start to their relationship, when it does take off there is still the matter of the elephant in the room, the one where Zara has made Bridgewater her home, and Cole's future lies elsewhere. I was really glad that they found the solution to their future, bringing the story to a happy conclusion. I enjoyed this gentle romance and the small-town flavour of the book, and am looking forward to reading future books by this author. I received a copy of this novel through BookSprout as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is the third book in the Boys of Bridgewater series and is an incredible book. It won't take you long to get caught up in the romance between Zara and Cole. Set in the small town of Bridgewater where everyone knows everyone and their business. Cole was a hot shot big city attorney who was originally from Bridgewater and only back in town to clear his friends name. Their first several interactions were more like oil and water or enemy and friends. They were at different places in their lives with each being where the other was at one time. Ex city girl now small town girl meets ex small town boy now big city guy. It didn't take long for chemistry to take over things. This was a sweet, contemporary romance with lots of drama. The story is told from a dual point of view which is nice. This is a great story that was easy to read in one sitting. Did big city life or the girl win out? I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
