About this ebook

INSPIRATION FOR THE THRILLING AMAZON PRIME SERIES JACK RYAN . . .

Jack Ryan Jr. returns in Locked On, the gripping thriller from Tom Clancy.

****

The Ryans - father and son - are fighting on two fronts . . .

When a deadly terrorist alliance creates the potential to blackmail any world power into submission, it's got to be stopped before it is too late. That's just the trigger Jack Ryan Jr needs to take his work for shadowy intelligence agency The Campus from the back room to the sharp end: black ops.

Meanwhile, his father, Jack Ryan Sr, campaigning for re-election as US President, is up against a privately funded vendetta to discredit him. Caught at the heart of the conspiracy is former Navy SEAL, John Clark. And Ryan Sr soon discovers that being his friends could have deadly consequences.

With the breakneck speed and military action scenes that have made him the premier thriller writer of our time, Tom Clancy delivers a novel of high-tech warfare in which the enemy within may be even more devastating than the enemy without.

Locked On follows the gripping Dead or Alive and The Teeth of the Tiger as the explosive third novel in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan Jr. series.

Praise for Tom Clancy:
'Truly riveting, a dazzling read' Sunday Express
'A brilliantly constructed thriller' Daily Mail

Good read - slowed a bit every time Jack Jr was getting moonpie faced over a girl (whose true reasons for spying on young Ryan was hidden as a teaser for the next book). Lost me on how easy it was to take over e space launch facility, and how hard it was to deny a nucleat tipped rocket from launching (until. a badly beaten Clark could be whisked in to save the day). Stretch of imagination that a bunker buster, or even a gattling gun were not used to prevent a launch - Clancy's talent in decribing intimate details about weaponry was conveniently left out here in order to set up a dramatic climax. But it shows the curtain is about to close - can't keep Clark going to save the day (would be worse than watching Mick Jagger prance around). And Jack jr has a pedigree of priviledge, not earned through military service like his dad, Clark, or Chavez - can't fill the same type of hero line they have unless Clancy takes Jack Jr down an Ian Fleming storyline. Could have ended cleaner as a curtain closer for the senior cast members - because even a 60 something Jagger only has to prance on a stage and lip sync his old hits. In the profession of John Clark, he is 20 years beyond his prime - so again this book had a very weak closing, focusing more on the potential love interest of Jack jr than the main characters.

I'd expect too buy a physical copy of a novel at this price and a hardback edition too!!! The cost to produce and deliver this ebook edition of the novel (+ royalities) is not fairly reflected in this price at all!!
