Yves Patrick Beaulieu è un canadese francese che risiede in Quebec, nel nord ovest del Quebec, più precisamente nell’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, una regione situata nel cuore della foresta canadese. Nel 1991, presenta il suo primo romanzo :«Al Passaggio della Nona Luna» e riceve riconoscimenti a livello regionale. L’autore compare dieci anni dopo con un secondo romanzo : «L'eremo» che riceve anche grande consenso dalla sua regione adottiva.
