We are back with the Casella cousins . If you have read the previous stories, if you haven’t I highly recommend you do, you have met Ronan. The mysterious cousin who left home, made a name of himself in Hollywood to once again disappear from not only the public, but also his family. Something his cousins have not been able to understand. But Ronan had reasons for distancing himself, especially from Bridget, the mother who was always cruel, distant and showed little love to him and his siblings. The past that not only molded him to the man he is today, but also has left him feeling empty and unloved. But now in his 40s he’s come home to Hidden Cove, to not only rent the playhouse and produce a play but also to mend fences with his siblings and cousins. Eliza Ellington, a former prima ballerina and now off-broadway choreographer and dear friend of Ronan’s has come along to help him. As time goes on, the friend becomes friends with benefits, and for Eliza, so much more. But fate interferes, feelings are hurt, family matters get complicated, and what at first was expected to be a quiet summer , it becomes anything but that. Once again, this talented author gives the reader an engaging plot filled with very complex characters who are real and full of imperfections. She also reminds us that the experiences we have as children, will indeed affect the adult we become and that life is full of the ups and downs. Life is not all black and white, it’s full of surprises and what might have been thought as non-negotiable, can be a blessing. I was sadden to say good-bye to the Casella cousins, but was happy to see them all prosper and find their HEA. Maybe the author will have them pop up in future stories as some of her other characters from previous stories occasionally do. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

4 star Review Ronan (The Casella Cousins #6) by Kathryn Shay I have been thoroughly enjoying the novellas in The Casella Cousins series from Kathryn Shea. This is the sixth book in the series and is Ronan and Eliza Ellington’s story and was a great addition to the series. I have been intrigued by Ronan since he was first mentioned in the series and this story answered my questions. Having left home at eighteen and making a success in the movie industry, Ronan has finally come back home, after disappearing for some time. What has happened in the intervening years to keep him from coming home? The Casella cousins are very close and his disappearance from their lives hurt them all in one way or another. Now that he is finally back, will he finally give them the answers that they have wanted for so long? The writing was strong, with characters that were easy to relate to and a story line that you cannot help but become invested in. I really liked both Ronan and Eliza, they have both been through so much and finally can see light at the of their tunnels. Sure Ronan has had fame and success but something was always missing. This was an entertaining, emotional friends to lovers story that ticked boxes for me. Can his return home bring him the peace and chance at happiness that he deserves? Will he allow himself to open up to Eliza?

ARC for honest review with no compensation Ronan is book 6, the final one in the Casella Cousins series and a standalone novella but reading the prior books gives you a better understanding of this family dynamics. We have been waiting for this dark mysterious man..and now here he is!! Ronan has been gone for over 20 years but has been appearing in some of the prior books and now we get to find out...why he left, where he’s been and what the future holds... What an amazing, well written, family oriented series by Kathryn Shay. If you haven’t read this series it. Is definitely a MUST READ!!
