Horst Wagner, Jahrgang 1961 ist in einer ländlichen Region am Rand der Schwäbischen Alb aufgewachsen und nach 1990 im sächsischen Meißen heimisch geworden. Aufgrund seiner technischen Ausbildung konnte er mit unverstelltem Blick die biologischen Vorgänge in der Natur beobachten und auswerten.
