About this ebook

Bestselling author Cara Putman returns with a romantic legal thriller that will challenge the assumptions of truth tellers everywhere.

Savannah Daniels has worked hard to build her law practice, to surround herself with good friends, and to be the loyal aunt her troubled niece can always count on. But since her ex-husband’s betrayal, she has trouble trusting anyone.

Jett Glover’s father committed suicide over a false newspaper report that ruined his reputation. Now a fierce champion of truth, Jett is writing the story of his journalism career—an international sex-trafficking exposé that will bring down a celebrity baseball player and the men closest to him, including Savannah’s ex-husband.

When Jett’s story breaks, tragedy ensues. Then a commercial airline crashes, and one of Savannah’s clients is implicated in the crash. Men connected to the scandal, including her ex, begin to die amid mysterious circumstances, and Savannah’s niece becomes an unwitting target.

Against their better instincts, Jett and Savannah join ranks to sort the facts from fiction. But can Savannah trust the reporter who threw her life into chaos? And can Jett face the possibility that he’s made the biggest mistake of his life?

Flight Risk Cara Putman Savannah Daniels is a successful lawyer who has worked hard to make a name for her practice. The one failure that has broken her is her marriage that failed, a marriage that she never wanted to leave. But 9/11, work, and betrayal brought it down. The only good thing she got out of it was Addy Jo, a niece that she loves and who needs her when life at home just gets to tough. When Savannah's ex, Dustin Tate, becomes the feature of an exposé, she has to wonder if she ever truly knew him. But regardless she'll be there for her niece. When Dustin and one of the others named in the exposé are on an outgoing flight that crashes Savannah finds herself having to deal with Dustin face-to-face for Addy's sake. Dustin claims that he has evidence that the allegations against him are false. Jett Glover is committed to the truth and he puts in the research behind every story he puts his name to. He stands behind the exposé he wrote. After all, he'd never want to put someone through what he went through when his father was the victim of a false newspaper report. But when those named in the exposé start dying he fears that his story may behind it. Savannah's current case is soon entangled with the downed plane and Jett's exposé but trust isn't something she is willing to give after Dustin's betrayal. But someone seems to be targeting her too so working together to get to the truth is something she has to do. Now I can't see anywhere that this book is part of the Hidden Justice series but it seems to go with as most of the same main characters from the other books are in this book (working with Savannah in her practice). This book can easily be read on its own as the story is contained within the covers but if you want to read it as if it is part of the series it would be book 4 chronologically. This book has a good dose of mystery and legal suspense with a medium-sized pinch of romance. If you are familiar with Cara Putman's previous works you will not be disappointed in this one. Also, it was interesting to get a glimpse into Savannah Daniels's life as she has been a background character in the first three Hidden Justice books. Overall a good read perfect for a weekend escape from the comfort of your favorite reading corner. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher via The First Editions with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

In the terrible aftermath of tragedy and murder, Savannah had to make a choice that most women used to being in charge didn’t like making. It is a choice each of us makes, often without realizing it. “Trust God or take control.” This fabulous legal thriller, first in a new series, includes everything I would expect to see in a John Grisham novel with one notable difference. This future best seller is offered with a healthy serving of faith in the Lord without preaching. The characters are well-defined. I love this small circle of friends who keep each other in prayer. The setting for this fast-paced novel is across the Potomac River from Washington DC. It is a complex mystery and compelling read, not the kind of book one can pick up and easily set it aside an hour or so later. Attorney Savannah Daniels is turning 40 and has a challenging case in mediation regarding technology that would replace the black boxes on airplanes. The partners have invested most of their savings and that of their families in the patented item, and are now being sued by a competitor who claims their technology was stolen. Savannah was divorced fifteen years ago, and is seldom in contact with her ex-husband, Dustin. He once had an affair with her sister Stasi, and they have a beautiful teen daughter. Addy is the light of Savannah’s life. Stasi had an on-the-job injury that she claims is the reason behind self-medicating with alcohol. Dustin, an airline pilot, loves his daughter but is often away. Addy spends increasing more time with Savannah. Jett, a reporter for Washington Source, tried to meet with Savannah regarding an article he was finalizing that included her ex-husband, but she refused to comment. The story broke amidst preparing her clients for mediation. Dustin was discovered piloting friends Logan, pro baseball player, Evan, and one as yet unidentified man to Thailand to have parties with young girls in the sex trade. The next day, a plane Dustin and Logan were on crashed after leaving the nearby airport. Dustin survived, and he told Savannah that he has proof he was not in Thailand for that purpose. It was merely their cover. Jett and Savannah have opportunities to talk again. When Dustin is found dead in his apartment by his daughter a few nights later, it is initially thought to be suicide, but anomalies may tell a different story. Jett, upset that his article may have prompted Dustin’s death, wants to work with Savannah to help find the truth. In the meantime, her clients’ product is implicated in the plane crash, even though they were required to stop testing until the lawsuit is resolved. What a breathtaking novel! There are several plot twists, one that I thought would be the end despite I was sure whodunit. This faith-filled novel has it all, from messy and realistic family situations to events that could be ripped from today’s headlines to the possibility of romance that Savannah had given up on years ago. Savannah and her close friends are women of faith and prayer. Some scenes are intense and not gruesome. The end was overall very satisfying, and I am looking forward to seeing Savannah and her associates again! I highly recommend this to those who appreciate legal thrillers with faith, grace, hope, and possibly romance. From a thankful heart: I received a copy of this novel from Celebrate Lit and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

What is truth? The tension never quits in another fabulous legal thriller penned by this author. Two story lines intertwine in this page-turning suspense. Jett Glover, reporter, prides himself in reporting only the truth. He spends many long hours researching each story making sure his information is correct and true. How then can he accept that his article may have ramifications that are totally unexpected? Savannah Daniels is a very good lawyer currently with a patent infringement suit that seems to morph into something much bigger with each new day. If they work together will they solve both of these mysteries? Between intrigue, mystery, human trafficking and unexpected danger you will not put this down until you figure out who or what is behind this all. The author does a fine job of keeping the reader in the dark - I will admit it took some time before I thought I knew who was behind it all. I highly recommend this book! What a fabulous way to spend a day. I received an ARC through Thomas Nelson, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, NetGalley and CelebrateLit. The impressions and comments are my own and were in no way solicited.
