Yves Patrick Beaulieu is een Canadese Fransman die in noordoost Quebec woont, in de regio Abitibi-Témiscamingue midden in het hart van de noordelijke wouden van Canada. In 1991 geeft hij zijn eerste roman uit "Au Passage de la Neuvième Lune" waar hij een regionale prijs voor ontvangt. Tien jaar later geeft hij zijn tweede roman "l'Ermitage" uit, waarvoor hij eveneens een mooi eerbetoon ontvangt van zijn adoptie regio.
