About the author

Yael Benyamini, PhD, is Professor at the BobShapell School of Social Work, Tel Aviv University(Israel). She teaches assessment in her mastersand doctoral level methodology courses and has along record of research on self-regulation and therole of perceptions of health and illness in chronicdiseases, women's health issues, and healthpromotion. Marie Johnston, PhD, is Emeritus Professor ofHealth Psychology in the College of Life Sciencesand Medicine at the University of Aberdeen (UK).She is an ex-President and elected HonoraryFellow of the European Health PsychologySociety, Honorary Fellow of the British PsychologicalSociety, and Fellow of the Academy of MedicalSciences. Evangelos Karademas, PhD, is AssociateProfessor of Clinical Health Psychology at theDepartment of Psychology, University of Crete(Greece). He teaches undergraduate andpostgraduate health psychology courses at theUniversities of Crete and Athens.
