Working Class Audio (WCA) is the home of the Working-Class Audio Podcast hosted by veteran Bay Area producer/engineer and drummer Matt Boudreau. And over the years, it has become a treasure trove of inspirational interviews with some of the best audio engineers in the business.
The Working Class Audio Journal series captures the essence of Matt's podcast interviews with industry professionals, in an easy-to-digest written form.
Matt moves beyond the technical and gets to the core of how top engineers practice their craft, delving into the world behind recording. He goes way beyond the typical βwhat was it like to work withβ or βwhat is the best EQ to use on a kick drumβ style questions typical of most interviews.

Matt Boudreau is an audio engineer and the creator and host of the Working Class Audio podcast. Mattβs early career as a drummer introduced him to the music industry while touring and recording, winning and losing record deals, and learning how records were made on a large scale. In 1994, Matt traded drumsticks for faders when a passion for audio production became his focus. Since then Matt has experienced the ups and downs of studio ownership and freelance recording, which ultimately led to the creation of the Working Class Audio podcast in 2014.
