About this ebook

From the legendary Johnstones, Greatest Western Writers of the 21st Century, the first in a new series featuring Civil War veterans who once fought on opposite sides, but now find common purpose as soldiers of fortune, taming towns and dealing death to desperados across the Wild West.

Veterans of the Union and Confederate armies, Keller “Mac” MacCoole and Hokum Boone are now soldiers of fortune, serving justice with deadly skills honed on the battlefield. When the law is no match for the lawless, Mac and Boone ply their trade.

In Utah Territory, the town of Brimstone needs protection. Hezekiah Creed founded his prosperous community of Kindred to follow their devout beliefs in peace. But sinners keep coming to town with wicked intent—and Creed wants Mac and Boone to destroy these devil-spawn from his land.

Clad head-to-toe in black, silent and respectful, the people of Kindred appear meek, content to let Creed rule over them like a benevolent father figure. Reckoning their client is not as pious as he appears, Mac and Boone walk a righteous path to uncover the blasphemous truth—and save the souls of the townsfolk. . .

JOHNSTONE COUNTRY. WHERE BAD MEN GO TO DIE.

About the author

William W. Johnstone is the #1 bestselling Western writer in America and the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of hundreds of books, with over 50 million copies sold. Born in southern Missouri, he was raised with strong moral and family values by his minister father and tutored by his schoolteacher mother. He left school at fifteen to work in a carnival and then as a deputy sheriff before becoming a full-time writer.

J. A. Johnstone learned to write from the master himself, Uncle William W. Johnstone, who began tutoring J.A. at an early age. After-school hours were often spent retyping manuscripts or researching his massive American Western History library as well as the more modern wars and conflicts. J.A. worked hard and learned, later going on to become the co-author of William W. Johnstone’s many bestselling westerns and thrillers. J. A. Johnstone lives on a ranch in Tennessee.
