Having finally entered a period of tranquility， the Edo Shogunate is on the verge of changing dynasties from the 6th Shogun， Tokugawa Ienobu， to the 7th Shogun， Ietsugu Tokugawa. Amidst this change， Ejima， a palace maid renowned for her classical beauty， rises to a position of authority within the palace.
