People in the United States use the Imperial System of feet, ounces, cups, etc, while most of the rest of the world uses the International System of Units which is meters, liters, grams, etc. Weights and measurement conversions allow us to know that one kilogram is equal to 2.2 pounds so we can use the proper amount or be charged correctly for the product.
