Granting the Yvonne Silveira Trophy to the illustrious writer Wanderlino Arruda is a well-thought-out way of recognizing and applauding his achievements, reaffirming his cultural production in our society. It is worth highlighting his tireless dedication to literature and teaching, in addition to his involvement in local, national and international movements, through various institutions such as Rotary, Banco do Brasil, Freemasonry and Historical and Geographical Institutes.
His dynamism serves as an inspiration to many, to all of us. A cultured, restless, intelligent, truly supportive man, he is a wise man, a wisdom that involves the ability to apply knowledge in a practical way, doing everything with perfect mastery. It has been a long time since Wanderlino immersed himself in the digital world, navigating safely and passionately through the many social networks.
Especially during the pandemic, he was compelled to follow new paths, developing a taste for video lectures, addressing the most varied subjects. Through them, he has shared his knowledge with the world, in addition to highlighting the knowledge of those he talks about. By acting in this way, Wanderlino demonstrates wisdom and generosity, as he does not selfishly imprison what he knows.
Here we highlight once again his vast written publication. In recent times, Wanderlino has been writing compulsively and has published a series of books dealing with the most diverse subjects. He always seems to be in a hurry, a great hurry, because, like time, he never stops. His cultural background makes him one of the most important guardians of the memory of Montes Claros, and, by awarding him, the Academia Montes Claros de Letras recognizes his great importance in the cultural scene of the city, the region and our country.
The verses of the poet Wanderlino are like open windows to a world of dreams and emotions, through which we contemplate his love and enchantment for life. He manages to translate feelings into words that touch us deeply. He makes us believe that true love is possible and real. He is one of the most prolific of our poets. His poetry has conquered the world, crossed borders, reached faraway places, landing in the lands of the Eiffel Tower. Proof of this is that, in 2010, his poem ADORO TUA BELEZA was recited in Portuguese and French by Romain Duris in the film L’Arnacœur, by Pascal Chaumeil, the greatest recognition of the season, in France.
Hail Wanderlino Arruda, Citizen of the World! Yesterday, our master; today, in addition to being a master, our colleague and very dear friend.
