Broken: A Dark Romance

This enticing dark tale takes you into the lives of Olivia and Kade with horrific dangers, spine-chilling action, suspense, tears that tug your heart-strings, life-threatening incidents, loss, and sizzling obedient sensuous romance. The story makes you feel and keeps you turning the pages until the end. There are quite a few hurdles to conquer before the happy ever after that is sure to thrill you. The story is fast paced and brilliantly written. The author has mixed reality and fantasy which makes this story impressive. She also does not disappoint by giving readers an enthralling plot with fabulous dialogue and vivid scene descriptions that leave you breathless. It sickened Kade the things he made Olivia do, but protecting her was his main priority. Olivia truly was strong even when she submitted to Kade and followed his commands, but in the midst of all the chaos and pain, she fell in love. Kade never dreamed that he would fall in love and believed he was not worthy of Olivia's love. Their love story started in terror, but ended in devotion. This was a gratifying read and the author did a fantastic job with the writing of this story. If you treasure dark romances, this is an excellent book for your library. I loved this story so much; {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

I bought a copy of another book by this author which also contained a copy of broken as well. I love this author's work although Broken wasn't my favourite book, I still found it enjoyable. Certainly wouldn't complain about getting another book free at the end of one I bought. The book was a very dark romance, including lots of bdsm and sexual slavery, possibly on the border of been to dark for me, there was certainly times I found it difficult to read. It certainly evoked a lot of emotions in me while reading, including some anger and frustration. Basically both main characters found themselves in a difficult situation. Olivia in the wrong place witnesses something she shouldn't. Kade is working undercover and placed in a position where if he doesn't kill his partner he will blow his cover and mission, then is forced to take the witness and train as a sexual slave. Having worked undercover to bring a criminal organisation down he feels he must follow through to achieve his end goal. As with all the books it was well written, adds different and intriguing storyline, plenty of steamy scenes, some action with bad guys to defeat and a super hot bad/good guy willing to do anything to protect his girl and finish his job. The book is standalone with a happily ever after.

I couldn't stop reading this story. It's dark and twisted at times but it's also beautiful and sexy too. You can't help but to feel for Olivia and fall for Kade. Just loved the epilogue. Was my first read from w.winters but will definitely read more in the future.
