If you like dark mafia romance or are looking to try your first one, this was a really good read! It was dark and had some delicious spice. A Debt So Ruthless starts off with a fast pace. Diedre finds out on her 20th birthday that she was used as collateral in a massive loan her father took out from a mob boss. The only reason she finds out? Elio Titone comes to collect his payment, her. Diedre is actually a smart woman and figures things out pretty quickly. The emotions she experiences are believable. I overall really liked her and how she handled everything through the story. Her sarcastic sense of humor was great too. Elio is... well, he knows what he wants. 😏 He was easy to like as the book progressed. *Don't forget to check those TW! There are many in this book!* Thank you to the author for a chance to read this book!

This is the first book I’ve read from Vero and let me tell you it had me in a chokehold. The book was a bit difficult to get into at first for me but I once I did it felt like a bit of a rollercoaster. I felt like the character growth and backstory of the characters was awesome. The spice was definitely heating up. I also started to fall in love with the way that they were starting to finally warm up to each other. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next with these characters.

Obsessed. An actual mafia book that feels like mafia. Great storyline, amazing relationship and character development. A lot of sexual tension keeping us on edge. Everything was just amazing about this book. I can’t wait for book 2!!
