This is a modern love story following a young Man slim woman in Canada. Hana khan lives with her family, helping in the family restaurant while chasing he dream job in broadcasting. I found this book a slow burner which turned to one I couldn’t put down. It covers a few topics, racism being one of them. The storyline was sensitive to the problems that Hana encountered, told with positivity. I liked the fact that even though this is a romance novel it did tackle issues of racism without pity or stereotyping people. Once again got into the book I read it very quickly, wanting to know how the story unfolds. I felt more interest in some of the characters, Hana’s aunt being a strong character, reading between the lines her story could be a book which I would be interested in reading. Definitely one to read if you enjoy a love story that isn’t too heavy on romantic cliches.

This was a really refreshing read and I really enjoyed reading a romance from a Muslim woman's perspective. Hana Khan Carries On focuses on a young Muslim woman who dreams of working in broadcasting. She also wants to help as much as she can with her family's struggling restaurant. A new restaurant is threatening to put the restaurant out of business and Hana struggles to get on with its owner. I really enjoyed how this book felt light-hearted and funny, yet also highlighted some of the struggles of the lives of Muslims in Canada. Whilst the story was fairly predictable, it did a good job of highlighting serious things with well interspersed doses of humour and hope. I would really recommend this book, and was constantly wanting to read 'just a bit more' to find out what was happening next. Having loved this book, I plan to hopefully keep up with the author's other books in the future.
