About the author

A retired local Government Officer Tom's passion has been Welsh maritime history.   In the 1970’s he published the first shipwreck books for divers in Wales.   He is best known for his Sea Guide to Pembrokeshire Coastline, a classic pilot book, with detailed passage plans for the yachtsman and kayakers.  Retirement for Tom was a chance to explore the world, and he sailed continuously for five years.  He has cruised many areas;  Greenland, Mexico, Cuba,  Las Perlos, Myanmar, Borneo, Indonesia, Philippines and North Australian coast. He took his skipper exams in 1973, before digital charts and GPS and has sailed many miles completely alone. He is now a landlubber researching seventeenth century wrecks in Philippines and Wales.
