Watson does here a marvelous work by reminding us that repentance is both a grace of God bestowed sovereignly and a responsibility of the sinner who is called by the instrumentality of the preaching of the Gospel. Watson says: “Repentance is never out of season; it is as frequently used as the artificer’s tool or the soldier’s weapon. If I am not mistaken, practical points are more necessary in this age than controversial and polemical.”
This book was originally published in 1668. This edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and lightly updated for modern readers.
