If you aren't between the ages of 12 and 17 then don't bother buying these books, on the other hand if you enjoyed reading Harry Potter or Twilight by all means buy these books. All three books are a 'teeth pulling' excruciating. I read them because my niece was so excited about buying them... so I indulged her. It's another horrid teen love triangle filled with the Twilight brutality and violence. Not much imagination was put into these books because they resemble Twilight and Potter sooo much. Not going to beat a dead horse , trust all the one and two star reviews.

I only purchased this set because it was on sale for $5; cheap enough that I wouldn't regret spending money if I didn't enjoy it. And boy was I glad I didn't spend more than $5. I had to stop reading by Chapter 5 where the big "cliffhanger" is the two main characters holding hands and the girl kissing him on the cheek (where he had a bruise! OMG!). It became clear at that point that my 27 year old mind couldn't stomach anymore. The prose is OKAY (not great) and the language and descriptions are inconsistent

Its an amaxing series. The movie didn't do the first book justice and left out some important parts which were moving and essential. The Hunger Games isn't another sappy love story as it brings issues which "teenage" books tend to ignore. You get attach to the characters and feel their pain but also admire their courage. There is much to be taken from this trilogy. Its a ♥ series of mine and I can only hope that the next two movies bring to light what this saga really represents. In short its a must read.
