Everything started when they were robbing a grave in an old Dutch cemetery. While they were digging, they heard a strange voice – as if a giant hound was howling somewhere near. They didn’t care and robbed the grave anyway. Soon terrible things started to happen – a friend of theirs got attacked by a large, strange animal.
‘The Hound’ is a terrifying short story by H.P. Lovecraft. It was first published in 1924. H.P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American horror writer. His best known works include ‘The Call of Cthulhu’ and ‘the Mountains of Madness’. Most of his work was originally published in pulp magazines, and Lovecraft rose into fame only after his death at the age of 46. He has had a great influence in both horror and science fiction genres.
