Et tandis que John se confronte à ce livre mystérieux, d'étranges événements surviennent soudain dans sa vie d'ordinaire si routinière...

Habitué des prix littéraires, il a également vu les droits de deux de ses romans achetés par Steven Spielberg. Il vit à Londres, avec sa femme et son fils.
