About this eBook

The Camel Club by bestselling sensation David Baldacci is the exciting first instalment of a breathtaking series.

The Camel Club
: a group of conspiracy theorists led by the mysterious Oliver Stone, who camp outside the White House. Their goal – to expose corruption at the upper echelons of US government.

The stakes are raised when the group witness the murder of an intelligence analyst. A murder the authorities seem intent on writing off as suicide. Looking at the case more closely provokes more questions than answers.

Joining forces with Secret Service Agent Alex Ford, the Camel Club prepare to shine a spotlight on a conspiracy that reaches into the heart of Washington’s corridors of power. In doing so, Ford finds out that his worst nightmare is about to happen . . .

The Camel Club is followed by The Collectors, Stone Cold, Divine Justice and Hell's Corner.

I read this book, based on the fact that it was written by David Baldacci. Am a fan of his Wil Robie and John Puller series. So I thought this must be a good read. Parts of it were, other parts didnt really add anything to the storyline. Or the same thing could have been said in a paragraph rather than 6 odd pages it took. There was one chapter that went on about how busy Carter Gray was, the chapter went for a few pages. I found myself thinking, "err ok hes a hard working bloke. You could have stuck a couple of sentences at the end of the previous chapter, rather than taking up a few pages". For me the book could have been done with being 50 - 75 pages shorter. That would have ensured that some of the extra stuff that didnt add to the storyline would have been left out. If you can get past the 'not essential to the storyline or could have been summarised in a paragraph' bits, the story isnt bad. Not as good as the Robie/Puller series but not bad. Will I read the next book in the series. I probably will, but wont be rushing to read it.

I have read the last 4 or 5 David's books and found them brilliant reading. The Camel Club was one of his earlier books and every bit as good. Superb.
